Zelma Delgado, PhD
Dear Colleagues,
I am delighted to announce that Zelma Delgado, PhD, has joined our academic community as an Adjunct Assistant Professor, where she will be teaching the Medical Spanish course.
Dr. Delgado brings a wealth of experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, and bilingual program development. She recently earned her Doctoral Degree in Rural Health Sciences from Mercer University School of Medicine, where her dissertation focused on birthing experiences among Hispanic populations in rural Georgia. Her professional journey includes leadership roles with the Georgia Secretary of State’s Professional Licensing Board and the U.S. Air Force, as well as extensive work in Spanish-language health outreach and interpreter services.
Her commitment to health equity and her deep understanding of culturally responsive care will be a tremendous asset to our students and programs.
